PBO funded a feeding program last Friday, May 10. This is through Pastor Ephraim V. Guerrero of the Pasig Community Church who was so kind to host our PBO Bazaar. He, with the Community Chest Foundation Inc, (a private, non stock, non profitable, charitable, welfare and civic organization) hold weekly feeding programs at Plaza Salamanca in Taft Avenue, Manila.
Call time for the feeding program is 8:00 am. Marseng Joanne and I went on half day at work at lumuwas to meet with other blogger volunteers and Pastor. Haggard pala ang byahe early in the morning, lalo na sa LRT1. Literal na buwis buhay! Na- disappoint kami dahil hindi kami makasakay sa dami ng tao kaya tumalon na lang kami sa riles nag jeep na lang kami.
We had some issues meeting up with Pastor kasi hindi sya nag re-reply sa texts or tawag. And there was no sign of an on going feeding program anywhere at the plaza. After waiting for a while, I finally spotted him talking to a group of kids. Nang inapproach ko at kwinentong hindi ko sya macontact, hindi daw nya kasi dala ang cellphone. Very good si Pastor, ang cute cute :)
Anyways, before we gave food to the kids - Pastor told them a lovely story about flowers. Some of the kids were listening intently and some...were just being kids, harutan ng harutan :)
This cute girl caught all our attention, she's just so cute :)
She reminds me of a cute baby duck :)
Naloka ako dito sa batang to, he asked me to take a picture of him and said "Kuya tag mo ako ha?" Basta sounds like Ornix - lakas maka Pokemon :) I had to stop taking their pictures kasi naistorbo ang story telling ni Pastor :)
After Pastor's story telling portion, we all said a prayer. It is really nice knowing these kids are taught the importance of prayer. They also are taught to be appreciative and thankful. Pastor said aside from the food, they would like to impart values to the kids. Sampung Palakpak! :)
After the prayer, the kids were given food - a meal of rice, a hotdog and egg. We also gave them goodie bags with simple snacks. And then that was it! It was such a fast program, we were all surprised it finished so quickly. We had to say bye bye to the kids, and of course to the cute little girl who reminds me of a cute baby duck :)
Picture picture with Pastor! Thanks for giving us a chance to share and experience being with these kids even for a short while.
For those interested to also fund or support Community Chest Foundation Inc, you can contact them via their Facebook page - here. The fund we provided for the feeding apparently is for 2 feeding sessions so we have one more feeding program in June. Date is to be announced when Pastor gives me the date. I'll keep you all posted - and I hope you can experience it too :)
And now - meet the volunteers! :)
Syempre, present ang PBO's most beautiful and handsome members - Me, Marseng Joanne, Sis Arline and Pao. First time namin ma-meet at dagdag sa most beautiful and handsome members sina Chard at Caryl! Really nice meeting them, they're happy people just like us. I want to thank you personally for being members of PBO and for being there last Friday. Same thank you sa inyo Marse, Arline and Pao. Isang Thank You song ng SM para sa inyo!! Sampung palakpak na din!! :)And that was our simple yet fulfilling outreach! Thank you all for your support and stay tuned for more outreach programs to come. As always, much love from me to all of you!
